BienVenue
Frenchriviera
Restaurant BienVenue is set in the heart of the old town. With stylish decor and a warm ambiance it really has a welcoming feel.
The Chef proposes both traditional and original dishes using Nice's rich abundance of local, seasonal produce. While there are some international dishes on the menu BienVenue have remained true to the Mediterranean flavours of the area.
The menu consists of fresh flavours with plenty of variety for even the most choosy palate. Starters include classics like prawn cocktail or Mediterranean Goat's cheese salad to more flavoursome seafood chowders and fresh gnocchi.
Main courses are far more elaborate with their own BienVenue twist on local favourites. The salad Nicoise has a seared fillet of tuna on a bed of leaves with a poached egg, fresh anchovies, smoked salmon and toppd with a creamy Hollondaise sauce.
But it doesn't stop there, the chicken supreme has a delightful tarragon sauce and the wild mushroom tagliatelle has really rich earthy flavours. For thoses diners who prefer somethng meatier, the medallions of pork fillet are wonderful served on a bed of warm pickled cabbage and dressed with a wild mushroom sauce. Or, try the Venison served with a port wine jus and accompanied by boulangere potatoes. For a real treat try the fillet steak, cooked to perfection with king prawns and served with a duo of thyme jus and creamy garlic sauce, accompanied by home made chips. Magnificent!
BienVenue offers real value for money with set menus starting at 16 Euro for three courses. Don't be fooled by the rustic exterior surrounded by the fish market, this is well worth a visit.
