Chalet les 4 Cedres also known as Chez Thomas is a wonderful family run restaurant open from morning until night on the fabulous Route de Villefranche.
This place is packed with bags of character serving local Nicoise and Italian influenced cuisine. The wood oven baked pizzas are stunning as well as local speciality Socca, a fabulous flat bread style of peasant food only found in the Nice area of France. It's made with chick pea flour, black pepper and olive oil, I can only describe it as a flat sort of yorkshire pudding, absolutely delicious just as it is, hot and eaten with your fingers.
Everyday there is a plat du jour for around Euro 9,00. This could be a selection of barbecued meats with vegetables or salad. Great value for money and always cooked to perfection. These delicious dishes are well worth a try. Chez Thomas offers a varied selection of traditional dishes from south-east France and Italy and you won't struggle to choose something on the Menu.
They have a lovely little terrace outside where you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner surrounded by the forrestry all around. And as the restaurant is open 7 days a week from 6am to midnight, it's great to know there's a place that is open all year round that serves good food at very reasonable prices.
The lovely Pizzas and Socca are also available to take-away. Prepared by the incredibly friendly staff, Chez Thomas is a charming local road-side restaurant not to be missed.
