Mouans-Sartoux Market
Frenchriviera
The Market in Mouans-Sartoux is held weekly on a Tuesday and Thursday from around 9h00 to 15h00 in front of the Hotel de Ville in the centre of the town.
It is best to get there early as parking is limited to one car park near the Chateau.
The Market has many stalls ranging from fruit and vegetables, olives and tapenades, clothing, honey, olive oil and wines. As well as some outstanding hand made pastas, breads, cakes and chocolates.
It is not a particularly upmarket event but it does provide a good insight into the local goings on with a rural feel even though it is so close to the glitz and glamour of Cannes.
If you like olives and tapanades then L'esprit et Olive have a stall for you. A Cannes company they make all their own tapanades and preserve their own olives, relishes and sun dried tomatoes. There are plenty of tasters laid out to try before you buy and they really are fabulous.
After you've perused the market there is plenty more to see in Mouans-Sartoux. The back streets are idyllic and there is also an old Chateau to explore which is open to the public and now used as an art gallery and exhibition centre.
Just in front of the Chateau is a romantic and pretty square surrounded with restaurants and the smell of freshly cut flowers from the local florist on th corner. There is no shortage of places to sit and eat and watch the world go by.
The Market at Mouans-Sartoux is also a good place to start if you want to finish up your day in Grasse at the perfumeries.
