Auron Ski Resort

Auron Ski Resort is divided into four areas over 135km and is generally better suited for the more competant skier or snowboarder. The village itself is smaller and quieter than Isola and not as high in the Mountains at 1600m.
The resort is serviced by 21 different lifts, mostly chair lifts and thankfully no tricky T bars, across the four areas of Las Donnas, Sauma Longue, Demandols and Lieuson. The runs comprise 9 Black, 15 Red, 16 Blue and 2 Green so there's plenty to choose from.
Snowboarding features heavily in Auron and the snow park is exceptional. The area is divided into three zones for beginners, intermediates and certified snowboarders. Lessons are conducted in the beginners area and it has smaller obstacles and handrails for those that need them. The intermediate and advanced areas have some amazing features, challenging and exciting enough for any boarder.
As with all the resorts in Mercantour a day ski pass for an adult will set you back Euro 28,80 but you can get a combination pass with coach transport from Nice Airport for Euro 30,00. The website is in English too so check for prices on cheaper passes.
