Chateau Sainte Roseline
Frenchriviera
Chateau Sainte Roseline is a multi-award winning vineyard on the French Riviera, near Les Arcs-sur-Argens in Var but still only a 40 minute drive from Nice in this famous wine producing region.
One of the most famous and historically significant vineyards in Provence, the chapel at Chateau Sainte Roseline is the final resting place of the former Mother Superior of the Abbey, Sainte Roseline herself. The daughter of the Marquis and Marquise of Villeneuve, she lived at the Abbey for 29 years in the early part of the 14th Century and was much beloved by the local population. Her body is on display in a glass coffin surrounded by works of art including a mozaic by Marc Chagall and wonderful stained glass by Bazaine and Ubac among others.
With 11 varieties of grape spread over 108 heactares of land, Chateau Saint Roseline is one of the finest vineyards in Provence and in 1955 was awarded the 'Cru Classe', a symbol of the quality of the soil the vines are grown in. A natural underground spring feeds the clay-limestone soil and provides the vines with the much needed nutrients required for an excellent wine.
The wine shop is open seven days a week and the atmosphere provides a perfect surrounding for wine tasting. The staff speak five languages and are more than happy to assist you in identifying a perfect wine for you or a gift to take home.
Chateau Saint Roseline is also an ideal venue for conferences, weddings, business launches, galas and banquets as they have a lovely selection of reception rooms and open-air spaces available to choose from. A catering service can also be provided as well as table decoration and audio equipment for business or private functions.
There is also a convenient online shop for anything that takes your fancy while visiting the vineyard that you can't carry back home again. If you are driving rather than flying then Chateau Saint Roseline make up beautiful boxed sets of complete ranges that make fabulous presents or treats for yourself and you can buy the tasting glasses as lovely souvenirs.
